The Ramadan War (March 1404 - April 1405) is considered an unprecedented event in Iranian history, not only in terms of military but also in terms of media coverage and the battle of narratives, and is considered a turning point in contemporary conflicts in the Middle East. This research aims to examine the impact of the media on the war and analyze the content of Fars News Agency during the Ramadan War. Given the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Republic in the early hours of the war and the continuation of the conflict for 39 days, managing public opinion, maintaining national cohesion, and confronting the enemy's psychological warfare became doubly important. Using the method of directional qualitative content analysis, this research has examined the news, reports, and notes published by Fars News Agency between March 9, 1404 and the end of April 1405. The findings show that Fars News Agency, by utilizing strategies such as “sanctifying the martyrdom” of the leader, “creating a common enemy” (America and Israel), “highlighting popular resistance,” and “linking to the Ashura discourse,” succeeded in presenting a narrative of the war in which the leader’s martyrdom is represented not as a defeat, but as a “turning point of victory” and “revival of the revolution” like a red phoenix of resistance. By producing fast, multi-layered, and emotional content, this media outlet strengthened collective morale and social mobilization to continue the resistance while neutralizing fake news from hostile media outlets abroad. Finally, this article shows that Fars News Agency demonstrated a model of “strategic-resistance media” in the Ramadan War that is capable of maintaining narrative stability and psychological cohesion of society in the most critical circumstances (even with the physical removal of the leadership).
